Nearly Wordless Wednesday: I Guess He’s Not Faking

27 Feb

Squish said he’s too sick for school.

Okay, maybe when a is still enough that a cat comes to collect his body heat, he's sick.

Okay, maybe when a preschooler is still enough that a cat collects his body heat like a furry vulture scavenging for scraps, he’s sick.

He might be right.

We’ll pretend. Actually, she’s the sweetest cat ever, so maybe.

Meanest trick my parents ever pulled was saying it was up to me to decide when I was sick enough to stay home. I felt too guilty to fake it after that.

He does look like an ill little guy, though.

I do that to the bigger kids. Because guilt is the best tool a parent can have. Besides M&Ms which have their uses, too.

I like to think the cat is keeping the little boy warm in an act of kindness :)

I like that thought. I’ll imagine that this isn’t the cat who sneezes on our food so we’ll give it to her.

I have two boys–I know where you are coming from–but he looks so sweet doesn’t he? I never liked it when my boys were sick, but when they were a little sick at least they slowed down to the speed of ligh

I know. I feel a little guilty for actually liking sick days, but we’ve been cuddled up watching movies all morning.

too bad they have to be sick to slow down enough for us to cuddle them–now mine are in their twenties and my youngest is home from college and we have been spending some time together on the couch – he gives me hugs–but there is no more cuddling

Aww…. And good kittie. I once had a cat who used to pet ME when I was sick. It felt very nice. I tried to purr to thank him.

She really is a sweet cat. An opportunist, no doubt, but a sweet one.

Ewww! Are you one of these horrible mothers who, instead of helping their ill/hurt child, reaches for the camera to snap a shot for posterity? Hehe, me too!

Aw, poor little face! I never believe my daughter either, only because she tells me at least once a week that her throat hurts or something. When she’s up and playing, she’s not sick. If she were confined to a chair with kitty, then I’d reconsider.

That was the only thing that stopped me short. His list of complaints were indicative of typhoid or e-bola, so I was not a believer until then.

I hope he feels better soon. Cat therapy can be very effective. Although it kind of looks like he’s sitting on her favorite chair and she’s just trying to make the best of the situation.

It’s too bad the winners were announced on Sunday. No one will remember this performance by the time next year’s roll around.

I see your cat is using percussion to help loosen mucous secretions in the little one’s lungs in order to get that kid back into school where he belongs. You’ve trained your cats well!
