Where’s the picture of the 2nd child sulking in a corner crying “No one ever pays attention to me? I didn’t get a pony like HER and she says I’m too big to ride her like HIM! It’s so unfaaaaaaiiiirrrrr.” 🙂
Awww… Now look what you’ve done! You’ve got me all sensitive and feeling sentimental, when I should be feeling macho and like a real Manly Man. (and redundant too) But following with that second pic is actually pretty funny and now I’m laughing, so I guess I’ll be okay. 😀
Confession: My third child looks EXACTLY like the firstborn at the same ages. A couple of times, when he asked me “where are all the pictures of me?” I pulled out pics of his brother and passed them off.
I’ve been meaning to read your blog for a long time. Rainy day off means I’m finally here. Couldn’t stop once I started. Love them! Glad I kept reading & came to this one! Ginger is still going strong, a little more gray though-not sure if that is because she is older or because Zac is her rider! She is still the biggest hit at the horse shows because she is the smallest (& cutest) one there. Thanks for sharing, and I’ll keep reading.
It’s so good to hear from you! Your family has been such a blessing to us. I’m not sure there’s anyone else I would have trusted our beloved little horse to. I’m so glad she’s still full of beans!
Hahaha!! Best Nearly Worldless Wednesday ever! 😀
Why, thank you! And thanks for the retweet!
I wish there were a “LOVE” button for your posts!
Thank you!
Oh, this is SO true!!
It really is. I would say that third kids get the shaft, but he seems perfectly content.
One of the best photos I’ve ever seen. Ever.
It makes me laugh, too. And my daughter was even amused.
Lovelovelove. Love.
Alice needs a slew of minions, herself.
Squish’s steed looks unsure about the stability of the rider.
She often wonders what in the world happened to her peaceful life.
Love the pic!
Awww, look at how much she loves her pony! And look at how much he loves HIS pony!
She IS totally nuts about him.
Very cute.
Thanks!
She looks so thrilled! Did Squish get bucked off?
He was afraid he might, which is why he insisted on the helmet before he took her out for a gallop.
The best part of that picture is the safety helmet. LOL!
He insisted on it. Which made me laugh.

Love the pics!
As a second child I most certainly can agree with that comment!
He was in his room building a submarine out of legos. And plotting to take over the world.

It’s always a wild ride over here.
A pony ride is a pony ride !
Exactly! She’s grateful he’s past the age for wetting his pants.

I posted a link there to one of your essays.
Thank you so much!
Love it!
I was a third child but I don’t remember my brother or sister ever being a pony. Lucky kids (yours).
Squish has no idea how lucky he is. His sister adores him!
I love the look on her face! And his. Pure glee!
PURE glee. He is the pampered youngest, to be sure.
The middle child always gets robbed. Not that I’m bitter or anything…
My 9 year old probably agrees, but in my defense, he DID have his dad all to himself on their scout camp out. It’s probably not enough, though, is it?
It never is!
I was afraid of that. Perhaps I should start saving for his therapy now, then.

LOL but which costs less in the long run? Pony or….
Perfect juxtaposition of photos! Love it!
Perfect!
so awesome… and true!
