Since the “About Me” portion is getting more hits than my actual blog, I may as well not waste an opportunity. My snakes outnumber my kids. I am a zookeeper. No, really! I work in the Herpetology department of my local zoo. My pet peeves include wet clothing buried in the hamper and little popcorn kernels that get stuck in my teeth. Most days, I have the attention span of a gnat.
I am owned by a PBGV (that’s a wire-haired basset, if you’re not down with dog lingo) who spends an annoying percentage of the time thinking she has puppies, and several cats who would eat them if she did.
My greatest accomplishment is conquering my fear of my pressure cooker. My new biggest fear is that my butt will always be this big.
I blog a couple of times a week now. Comments are welcome, but keep ’em clean. My kids read this blog.
Please take my thoughts with a grain of salt. I recommend kosher non-iodized.

Oh my gosh! So funny. My daughter says she has ADOS. Attention Deficit ooo shiny … Yeah, I can relate. We used to have potluck dinners on Wednesdays at church and, since mother was a prolific gardener and we grew a bajillion green beans to can each summer, she would always take green beans to church suppers. Invariably, she hopped into the shower after beginning the process. “Honey, watch that pressure cooker for me.”
And then, I was on my own.
Watch it for what?
One day, I discovered the reason: green bean hell.
Valid fear and hilarious “about” post.
Potato soup on the ceiling. A memory that haunts both me and my sister to this day. Pressure cookers can KILL you.
But enough talk about you… let’s talk about me! You gave me quite a scare earlier when you were the very first person to ever comment on one of my posts. Yes, you were my first, and I’ll never forget you… Especially after I get this e-mail headed with “Please moderate: “BAD MOOD ON THE RISE!”. I’m thinking that WordPress doesn’t like the content in my post and wants me to tone it down, and I’m also thinking that this is going to be a very short relationship! (no, I’m not paranoid – all my delusions are based on true stories.)

So far, so good. I modified it somewhat to five days a week, since fewer people read over the weekend. My archives show blogs as far back as April, but those were imported when I started here in July.
😀 I started in July too! I’m still doing it 7 days a week – I’m not really being concerned if people are reading it or not (I don’t suppose it’s to everyone’s taste). I think I’ve missed about 5 days – but I’ve found that you can fill in the gaps, so I’m going to do that at some point too! 🙂

OMG I am completely out of sorts this morning as I am low on colored Xmas lights, like 2 strands low for a 7′ tree. Stop the world I want to get off and it’s 7am on a Sunday and a whopping 28 degrees. Jeezly crow.

Oh! What kind of lizards do you have? We have had leopard geckos and a bearded dragon, and I used to rehab Savannah monitors.
We have a Leopard Gecko (still a baby) and a Crested Gecko, we just adopted from a wonderful owner who is about to venture to college…they’re so neat! I have nearly pushed the limit with the hubby (he’s not very pet friendly….especially if they can get out…lol)

I was wondering if you might help me out…El Guapo and Edward Hotspur gave me quite a bad time the other day, and I thought it might be fun if some of us bloggers who frequently see their sites would mention “conspiracy” or some form of the word in any comment we make on their blog tomorrow. The idea is to get them thinking that it is weird that so many people are talking about conspiracies…but we should still be subtle enough that they won’t figure out there really is a conspiracy to quickly.
My Mom was afraid of the pressure cooker and handed the fear down to my sister. I remember the day it “blew” and the marks it left on the ceiling. We treid painting over it, but the grease just leaked through. Thanks for making me go down the memory lane. By the way, I don’t worry that my butt will always be this big…I worry it will get bigger!!

PBGV’s are cool! I dont think I’ve seen one of those guys in 20 years, they’re so rare in the US.
There was a technician when I was at UC Davis vet school in the Exotics Clinic that bred those…that wouldn’t be you by chance, right?
I mean, reptiles, PBGV’s…that’s kind of a coincidence…
It’s not me. I have never bred them. I don’t know what I would do with 12 Muppet puppies!

I’m a thrift-store shopping mother of three as well. Snakes do not appeal to me, but my husband likes them. Cat-lover would be more appropriate as long as they are short-haired. I’m allergic to the others.
